It's an aerodynamic device. My Silverado ('19+) has a cab spoiler like that, too, but its a plastic piece.

My wife and I had an 07' TACO w/6ft bed and had many a fun adventure. We then built up two vans for our adventure use, still have one of them... but the call of getting a weee bit further up the trails is calling.
Seeing many of the recent TACO TRD Off-Road YT reviews have renewed the idea of having another TACO in the driveway. I've been researching the Alu-Cab (and similar) for some time as it looks like a simple solution to getting out with some creature comfort on the back.
