I didn’t get anywhere with this, John from SPV is going to send me the right harness when he makes it up, I forgot to mention my truck was a 2025, for now I have no manual override for the rear flood, not the end of the world

I FIGURED IT OUT. I just wasn’t using the right combination of “f*ck”, “sh*t”, and “motherf*cker”.

I thought it might be the right time to post some updates...

So it has come to my attention that starting with the 25 Models (only 25's.. 24's are not changed)

Toyota changed the connector in the rear to a 4 pin one with 3 wires. Rather than the 2 pin one with 2 wires...

For those who are not aware. Here is what is different, and the same.

Originally Toyota only had access to ONE switch back there. One wire was power and the other a ground.

In 25, both the Trail Hunter and the TRD Pro can come with the ARB Bumper and the Plug for the switch.

Taking the photo (Zoomed IN) that @wolfpackwest posted in the beginning of this thread with his install. We started out with him simply using his Toyota Provided pig tail And then adding a crimp on connector to it that could then plug into out short rear harness. Again, notice in the photo.

After many on here like the solution and wanted to replicate it. We simply produced a new "Complete" pig tail harness that took those 2 pieces and made one. See the photo below. This is still current for all 24 models-

Now... This is the NEW pig tail Toyota Provides-

As you see. It is just like the original one. However, it is the 4 pin version. So. For those of you who don't want to wait a short time.. I am guessing 3-4 weeks? You can simply take your existing Toyota Pig tail and put a connector on it (we can provide it) just like this post and install shows. We just made it even EASIER with the all one piece version and we will have the same again.

Below is a photo indicating which color wire is which.

So for a little guidance. There is NO wrong decision as far as getting something now if you have the 25 model. Because we make our harness system to be expandable.

In this link to the kit. You have 2 selections. The SECOND one, you would want to select "Flush Mount for ARB Bumper"

The first one is which type of harness connection you want.
For the ARB Bumpers (or if you have the built in switches) there are only 2 that you want to choose from.

The first is "Short Length Harness w/Tail Light Adapter (Reverse Only)"
That one automatically powers the white lights when in reverse AND it powers the red backlights with the tail/running lights. It's all AUTOMATIC.

The Second option is "NEW Option - Short Harness With Pass Through Pig Tail for Switches & Reverse Trigger"

The ONLY difference between them is the ADD ON pig tail connector that we produced that is a combination of the Toyota one you are provided and a connector to integrate it into our short rear harness.

So if you follow. The short rear harness and the tail light adapter are included already. So the same pieces. So without the add on, its $25 less. If you add that to what you have later, its a $25 add on. So you won't miss anything or be required to remove or replace anything when I have the new version produced. Hopefully I am being clear enough for everyone to understand.

So if you select the version NOW "Short Length Harness w/Tail Light Adapter (Reverse Only)"

Then you can do one of 2 things. You can use your pig tail harness from Toyota and add it to a connector I can provide based on the original instructions in this thread. (Just remind us with a note on your order or an email. However, I will just try to start including an add on connector with that option in case)
Or the second thing. Once we get the other add on models in within a few weeks. Simply reach out and you can purchase them for the same $25 and we will ship them free so there is no difference in price. You can use your existing kit in automatic mode NOW... and plug that in later or add a connector to your Toyota provided plug now and use both.

Here is the link again for those selections-

Here are also a couple more photos of it under the truck-

Now... to elaborate on how future proof our harness system is and how you will be able to continue to adapt time and time again. I am going to give you some scenarios.

Unlike other kits you purchase elsewhere. The generic harnesses need cut down generally, spliced, taped, etc and are one use and for just the one light you get with them.

This kit for your Tacoma has 3 parts.
The tail light adapter
The Short Harness
The Plug in Pig Tail to the switch wire/s

Lets say you bought the complete kit for a 24 model with all 3 parts. You then trade in your 24 and get a 25 or 26.
You can take your complete kit with you and put your blanks back in the holes in the bumper.

You can simply buy a different $25 switch wire pig tail plug (what we are producing) and now your kit is the upgraded model.

Lets say you trade the Tacoma and take your light kit with you and there is a newer Tacoma and the tail lights and their connectors changed.
Then you can simply get the updated tail light connector. We will continue to come out with now ones. The new one will just plug into the Short rear harness. Just like all the others do for all the other makes and models out there from Ford, Dodge, Jeep, GMC, etc. The same Short rear harness can be used as can all the harnesses for any vehicle.

So you can simply change the one piece to match any vehicle.

You can also swap out just the lights with our matching adapters. While others may not fit in those designated cut outs. If you took your kit to another vehicle, you could get different lights and use your harnesses again.

So the modularity and universal factor is actually pretty wild. That's what makes our patented harness "System" so cool.

So in situations like this. When the manufacturer makes a change to a connector. It doesn't effect EVERYTHING. Just one little plug in that can be added later or replaced.

If you are someone who is intrigued with things like this and want to understand more about the "system" and possibilities. This is a link to some FAQ videos we have done on SOME of the components. We plan to do many more videos showcasing a lot more.

We also plan to do a lot more with the Toyota. So if any of you would like to see new kits and parts for your vehicle. Reach out. The entire reason we added the Tacoma Tail light adapter to our system and then add on pig tail was from members on here. Our Short rear harness, tail light adapters (for other models) already existed. We just added the Toyota ones.

So we want to give the Tacomas some much needed love too.

That means things like light bar, fog lights, a pillar light kits, etc too.

So let us know what you want to see!

John, appreciate the update! What’s nice is that now with the 4-pin pigtail in the back, you could run any of the 3 different amperage AUX buttons. The ‘24’s were forced to use AUX1 which is rated for 15amps and highly overkill for the those two little lights.
