Hybrid battery charge level?

I have accumulated less than 200 miles so far, and the Hybrid battery charge level hasn't been more than 4-5 bars the whole time. My typical use is for leisure, so no commute, 20-30 miles per excursion so far. Is this normal, or am I not driving long enough to charge the battery?

It is normal. I have read somewhere that Toyota likes to keep the hybrid battery around half charge. I have 3800 miles and have never seen it fully charged. The highest I have seen mine is one bar from full. It usually stays around half though.

I agree with you. Mine behaves exactly as you described.
