Inaccurate Miles and gas gauge

It is on the recall list. I also had it drained and flushed at 1000 miles including the engine oil. When I hit 6k I'll do the same maybe when they find chunks lol they might finally replace it? Lol.

Thank god for that TSB then, so you’ll get squared away, but still, I feel ya for having to drive around like that and knowing what could happen. I’m not sure how much off-roading you are into, but I can imagine this would be a big deterrent to being able to go out there and enjoy the trails.

Unless the dealer did it I would definitely not volunteer that information up front.

Well the Truck came with 2 years of Toyota care so I'm going to going to them for services for 2 years after I'll be maintaining the truck.

Fuel gauge and driving range

display

The fuel gauge and driving range

display are linked. If the fuel gauge

and driving range display do not

update after refueling a small

amount, they can be updated by

performing the following procedure:

1 Stop the vehicle on a level sur-

face.

Wait until the fuel in the fuel tank

stabilizes.

2 Turn the power switch off.

3 While pressing and holding

of the meter control switch, turn

the power switch to ON.

4 Continue holding of the

meter control switch for approxi-

mately 5 seconds.

Release the button when the odom-

eter begins blinking.

Updating will be complete when the

odometer blinks for approximately 5

seconds and then returns to the nor-

mal display.

What’s the gallon amount after you refill back up?

Hey I finally just filled up, been since Christmas I last filled up. Put about 14 gallons in and my estimated range was I want to say 330

damn so 4 gallons left after your light turned on

My normal estimated range is also in the 220-230 range consistently. I frequently run it down to about 20 miles or less left, and then fill up in the 15 gallon range.

Light didn’t come on, it was estimated to be 50 miles left and was solidly at a quarter tank by the gauge, I try to fill up around there every time
