I'm looking at purchasing a lone peak camper for my TRD off road. I have a couple concerns when it comes to weight and MPG hit. Wondering if any other owners can provide any insight into what the MPG hit was when installing one..

I've had my '24 Tacoma OR DCLB for almost exactly one year and have had the LP camper since the end of June last year. I just turned 17,000 miles on the truck. I love it! For the money I don't think there's a better wedge camper on the market.

You will take a MPG hit with any weight you carry and this is no different. It's not just the camper, you have the full build to consider. I figure I'm carrying at least 1,000 lbs, although I have yet to formally weigh it. I average between 15-17 mpg but from talking to people with the 3rd gen, it's not really much different and the engine handles the load well. I rarely even notice the weight.

Here's a thread I started, although I've done quite a bit to both the camper and the truck since then.

Feel free to ask any specific questions you might have. Other than the six foot bed, it will be very similar.

Here's what the truck looks like as of yesterday...
