I removed the air dam from my TRD Sport and have only a very slight whistling/humming noise. I see that there are plugs for the lower control arm holes that will stop this noise. The question is whether plugging these holes will prevent drainage and lead to rust. I figure the holes must be there for a reason and I can live with the noise vs. a rust problem. I had an old Tundra with a terrible rust problem, I know that was an entirely different issue and cause, but it remains in the back of my mind. Thoughts?

If I’m not mistaken some models come with control arm holes already plugged. I would still remove plugs once a year or more to clean out and spray fluid film in there.

The 4 holes that need to be plugged on the lower A-Arm are angled slightly down and the main drain hole on the bottom is where all the draining will occur.
