In my previous vehicles I used a quality DAP to play music, using the 3.5mm audio input.

Without an audio input in the new Tacoma, I’m transmitting via Bluetooth to the vehicle’s audio system, which essentially renders the use of a hi-res DAP useless.

I’d like to know what other people are using, preferably a player with external Micro SD card storage.

Thanks!

PS I currently use a FIIO M11 plugged into the USB-C for power (using the in-vehicle mode- it turns on and off with the vehicle), and transmitting via Bluetooth, but I feel that this is overkill and I’d prefer to not leave an expensive unit like this in the vehicle.

Would you share details on your memory stick?
I've only been able to get it to work with USB 2.0 sticks using a USB A to C adapter.
I don't know if it's the 8GB limit or USB 3.1 that causes the problem. At this point I'm just curious because I have a working solution that's not too cumbersome.
