Greetings!
New member here from Puerto Rico just put a downpayment on a TRD sport 4Γ4 π». Got a VIN number and it says it will be in the underground color .
Long story made short I was obsessed with Wranglers for years...graduated recently, car broke down. Spent about 3 thousand since June fixing it...thought it was time for a new car!
I went to Jeep, Mazda, Subaru, and Toyota. Tried anything with AWD or that was a 4Γ4.
All dealers were offering aggressive liquidation discounts to get rid of 2024. I got lucky.
Best offer I got was 45k for a Forester sport that they had marked up at 51k. MSRP was 41k.
I went to 4 different Toyotas and fell in love with the Tacoma. Didn't feel long and felt I could go over anything.
I'm an electrical engineer and sometimes I get contracted to work with the local power authority doing storm damage assessment, so I go off road every once in a while...
I love going to rivers and mountains on my island. Originally wanted a Jeep to have a convertible 4 by 4 but I just couldn't justify the reliability.
NOTE: Due to shipping and import taxes, here in Puerto Rico cars go over 10k-20k over MSRP in the states...that's just the norm...
I got an offer for the Tacoma TRD sport 4Γ4 at 51k...then another dealer quoted me down to 50k...MSRP is 47k for that type of Tacoma on the island.
It inclued free lifetime warranty for the motor, transmission, and differential, weather floor mats, rock sliders, 10 year road assitance that is free aside from my insurance's,and 3 year free bumper to bumper coverage that I plan on extending to 10 for an additional 3k.
It took a bit of haggling but I took the deal.
I almost took the manual TRD off road might trade in the sport and get the manual one in a few years if they still make it...
They are going to pull the car from another dealer so I will post photos in 2-3 weeks!
It's been a long time since I was this excited...drove a mitsubishi mirage 2014, toyota camry 2008, Nissan murano 2016, and a Forester 2013.
Time for a new adventure!
