Has anyone successfully installed these NYTOP flares? Link

I have had 2 Offroad shops try and talked to 3 body shops.

The first Offroad shop tried both front flares but took them off and said the flares weren’t flat and the fact the instructions called for two layers of double sided tape it meant that gap would be visible even if the parts were flat. They then recommended I go to a body shop as they would be more familiar with mounting trim tape and adhesive promoters.

I went to three different body shops with them all telling me the parts were not straight and they didn’t think it would looks well enough to my satisfaction once they got them on. They said they would heat and use promoter but still didn’t think they would go on without gaps.

The second Offroad shop tried two different times to install them. Once heated or even under the sun the flares get soft. Almost a gummy like feeling. Very very soft at the edges. So they were able to get them on but once they cooled they began to pull again. So after seeing how they looked after sitting a couple of days they recommended taking them off as they would most likely pull away more as I drive.

I’m curious if anyone has successfully installed these and what do they look like up close.

By the way. Instructions called for two layers of double sided tape which in itself already makes it not sit flush with the body. This was not the Offroad shops idea. They did that per instructions so I can’t blame them for the flare not sitting flat. But you can see even where it does seem to sit it is wavy.

Are the Toyota flairs not available or are they crazy expensive?
Crazy expensive because it requires the front bumper as well as the front fiber wheel liners. Each factory flare are about $300 each alone. Not that these NYTOP flares at $650 were cheap or anything but oem flares are pricey.

Yeah - that is what I thought, because most of the Toyota OEM parts are expensive. I don't see how those NYTOP flairs could ever fit right though, considering how they are attached with the tape.

Good luck and I hope you can find a way to make those work.

Wondering what NYTOP had to say when you contacted them? Their product page has a ton of pics, none of them appear to show gaps like yours has.

They said it’s more of a DIY project but at the same time they also said it’s not really an Offroad shop job more of a body shop job, there’s no way their mold is wrong and to use more adhesive promoter.

I posted here because I’m wondering if anyone was able to get them on and would like to see up close images of the finished product to see how it fits against the body. But as it is, I’m probably done with those flares. I’ve spent enough money having shops put them on them only to have them remove it.

I’ve wasted enough money on this mod and could’ve just put it to pay for a good portion of oem flares and bumper costs.

Rough Country flairs installed by Nave Auto & body located in Novato Cali
fits really well No gaps
widest flairs i could find , i had a lotta " poke " with my new Method 319 wheelz 35 offset & 265r70 17" BigFoot AT's by Big O ( made by Nitto)
Nave ordered & installed these
It is best that the shop orders these as they deal with any shipping issues ( shipping damage )
$299 set of 4 mat black
$599 set of 4 painted any OEM color you want
Now I have very little mud thrown on the sides of my truck , the OEM 5" tube steps help there as well .Weathertec mud flaps were removed as the flairs cover that mud flap mounting area

I've installed their carbon flares and the fitment wasn't as bad as what you're seeing with their polyurethane flares. If you're installing your flares in the cold, NYTOP did instruct to heat up the poly flares or let them sit out in the sun prior to installing.

I did install them per instructions (double layered 3m tape) but I also took the extra step to apply black silicone adhesive to the outer edge where the flares meet the body of the car.
I took the "inspiration" from how widebody flares are sometimes finished to cars and how Akira Nakai finishes his kits on RWB Porsches. You can also find a video of a guy on youtube doing the same to a set of flares on his Tundra.
Lots of time applying clean tape lines, but well worth it as the silicone not only acts as a second way of adhering the flares to the body, but protects the 3m tape from the elements.

On my set even at areas where they stayed on you can see waviness. Regarding using heat, they were definitely soft in the sun. Almost gummy like to the touch at the edges. The shop tried sun the first time and heat lamp the second time. I’m in so cal so there is plenty of heat from the sun. Maybe my set was bad or maybe carbon is the way to go. 🤷‍♂️

I’m so frustrated with these at this point. The amount of time and money I’ve spent at various shops has pretty much killed my will to try again. Going to basically write off over $1,000.

I remember speaking to another person with the poly flares and had no issues during the install. Maybe you did somehow get a bad part?
I'd try and reach out to NYTOP and see if they can work something out for you regarding the install "circumstances." They were great to deal with when I received my first set and found out they were damaged during the shipment.

Side note:
I would not trust any of the body or "off-road" shops that you've taken your truck to, if they cant figure out that those flares still allow you to use the stock mud flaps. Just shows how little they're actually paying attention to the details during install, which is concerning to say the least...

I appreciate the suggestions. They said their mold is right but I’m seeing waviness even on parts that are sticking. I’m done without frustrations. I’m going to reach out to the Toyota dealer I work with and order the bumper and flares.

I'm sorry you had to go through the frustrations you did with the truck.

Through my own digging around this forum, I found the part number for the Pro/TH front bumper cover, and the Pro flares (I'm not sure what the part numbers are for the TH flares in the matte finish):

Pro/TH front bumper cover: 52119-AK902
Pro FR Flare: 75085-AK040
Pro FL Flare: 75086-AK040
Pro RR Flare: 75087-AK040
Pro RL Flare: 75088-AK040

I personally wouldn't waste the money on the new fender liner, as you can just tuck the fender liner that you have behind the new Pro/TH bumper with that integrated clearance "cut"

Thank you so much for these part numbers. Me and the side of the truck bed appreciates it greatly.
