Has anyone had this issue. It's happened to me twice now where I get in my Tacoma and the passenger seat is reclined all the way back. The controls don't work for about 10 minutes but after that the passenger is able to control the seat again. I know this sounds very random but it's happened twice now. I have a TRD Off Road with the premium package for reference.

Driver's seat fully reclined once while I was out of the truck. I thought that I might have accidentally triggered it.... no idea why.

Yeah I thought the same but now it's happened twice. The worst part is the seat controls don't function for a bit... Until they do.

Update: the dealership called me today after I dropped off the truck and said they were going to replace the master switch. I'll provide another update once I get more information when I pick it up (hopefully tomorrow).

In case anyone is still following this issue, the dealership replaced the master switch in the passenger seat. I will note that the malfunction had not occurred since they did the diagnostic. The service guy that worked on it said it was a bad connection so I'm thinking it's entirely possible that once they opened up the seat and looked at it, that might have solved the bad connection when they put everything back together. Who knows?! Ha.

This happened to me this morning. We had our coldest temperature outside yet and I went out to my Trailhunter. The driver seat back was all the way down to the rear seat

Update: After the repair, I have not had any additional issues with the power seat moving randomly. @Biggs1975, you might want to take it to the dealer and have them change out the part.

Thanks for the info. I have had this happen once on the driver’s side and once on the passenger side. I told the dealerships about it at my first service appointment and the service advisor acted like I was making up the issue. I told him it had happened to other owners thanks to this forum. He still said it was impossible. I told him if it happened again I was bringing it back to them. A week later, I got a survey in my email and gave them an honest review of my appointment. Needless to say, I now know the service manager in case I have anymore issues. I bought a Trailhunter- definitely not a cheap truck and I expect Toyota to stand by their products like they have historically.

Sounds like more of a dealer issue than Toyota. My dealer goes above and beyond to fix anything I bring to their attention, while some dealers just blow their customers off.

I would give my business to a different dealer if I were you.
