PSA - Mudflap swap reveals paint gouges!

Tacorancher’s PSA inspired me to post one as well. Today I switched out the tiny mudflaps that came on my truck for the Canadian ones. On both fronts, the mudflap had rubbed right through the clear coat and paint. Initially, I thought it was just a line of dirt, but I cleaned it and was able to catch my fingernail in it, so it's definitely gouged. I covered it over with a clear coat pen and waxed it a few times after determining that the Canadian flap covers that area. I think I'll put some clear 3M tape under them anyway within a few weeks.

Very common for mudflaps unfortunately, my 2nd gen and 3rd gen both did on the rear

What is the brand and part number of your mud flaps. I too need mud flaps!

I believe this is right. I’m going off of my order. But I can look tomorrow after work. The brand is Toyota. They’re stamped Made in Canada.
PK389-35R00-F1. Front
PK389-35R00-R1. Rear.
I have an extra set due to a mixup on my end. They‘re the same as the ones in my pictures - the Canadian style. I was gonna post them on here. DM me if interested!
