Running smaller wheels (17" inch) on Hybrid models??

Has anyone tried to see if 17” rims can be safely run on the hybrids? I’ve seen loads of videos where people mention it offhand but so far in my research I haven’t come across anyone whose tested the fitment around the larger brake calipers/tested if the smaller wheel could allow the cooling needed for those brakes.

Maybe it’s a silly question. I dunno. But has anyone explored this at all? Thx in advance!
