Hello Tacoma Owners,

We are currently developing a new center console organizer with an integrated phone mount designed specifically for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. This product aims to enhance the functionality and convenience of your vehicle's interior.

However, we have identified a potential concern: the addition of the phone mount may obstruct the driver's forward view to some extent. We are very interested in hearing your thoughts on this issue.

Would you find this potential obstruction acceptable given the added convenience of the phone mount?

Would you prefer an alternative design that minimizes this obstruction, even if it means reducing some of the organizer's functionality?

Your feedback is invaluable to us as we work to create the best possible product for our fellow Tacoma enthusiasts. Thank you in advance for your input!

Best regards,
TRUMGETA Team

I think the best location for the phone mount would be this. (Shown in the picture below.) I know that's not really what you are asking here. I've been looking for a mount to place the phone in this location. It has the best accessibility while occupying the least space out of the windshield visibility. Maybe include a Magsafe option? Or a common ball head standard to easily change over to Magsafe.

I also think the latter option with the phone farther away is inconvenient as you would have to lean quite a ways to reach the phone.

Cheers

Honestly I don't know if that design you have is legal. It is blocking the windshield and I am pretty sure cops can ticket you for that.

Actually the surprising thing is that most jurisdictions won’t solely ticket you for that unless there are other reasons to stop your vehicle, it’s too petty of a reason and most just issue warning but it would vary between each agency out there.

I agree with gondem07 about the phone placement, it keeps it down out of your line of sight with the windshield but still leaves it close enough for you to fiddle with if you need to. Another good reason for putting the mount there is that for people that need to charge their phone while driving can do so without the cord getting in the way.

My input would be to forego the phone mount given the existence of CarPlay and an integrated wireless charging stand. I don’t think that many people are also relying on a phone mount, and the drawbacks would keep someone (like myself) from buying your product. just my two cents.

I love the idea and have been giving feedback to a few product designers on exactly this. Would love to test the final product!

I purchased one like this from Amazon. Sadly it didn’t fit. But similar design.
