Not sure if this is the right place for this but I have a long bed but wanna go for the trd pro black roof look. If anyone has a trd pro two tone can you show close up of where the a pillar meets the hood and where the line is up on the rear back pillar if possible? Going to wrap mine.

So should I have said “anyone with a trd pro in any color except black”? Lol
No… I was just letting you know that YouTube is loaded with videos and google with images of exactly what you needed.

in other words, just google any trd pro that isn’t black

that’s all. I was trying to be helpful, but you’re the one who asked for a two tone, when they all are but black.

I looked at the thread but didn’t see any complaints you had? Why do you wish you painted instead? I see you went with satin instead of gloss any reason? From what I understand satin and matte are harder to maintain with vinyl wrap?

Does going through a car wash hurt a wrapped roof?

yeah ,
, after awhile a few issues showed up , bubbles on the side panels big ones 2" across , a hair under one of the mirrors , edges are not cleanly cut , the side panels do not match ,
the satin has a weird shine to it when the sun is at a low angle , it is not a consistent look in low light . the satin disappears in low light where a gloss still has reflectivity.

but really it is low quality of the work , i see more flaws everytime i wash (handwash)
like i posted earlier I will save $ till i can paint the roof , bumpers & apply black ppv film on the side panels.
I plan on keeping the taco 4 ever so paint is a better fit 4 me , wraps r temporary

I see 3 routes you could take: vinyl wrap, paint, or color change PPF.

Vinyl wraps last about 3-5 years depending on color and UV exposure. Black being the worst for longevity and if kept in the sun will cause premature failure. Roofs tend to get the most sun and the least TLC, especially on trucks as they're harder to reach.

The paint route is obviously the most permanent option (good and bad aspects to this). It's expensive and can be difficult finding an experienced guy to do the job right and ensure longevity. When it comes to paint, it's almost all about prep work. Disassembly, sanding your current paint down, plus on a roof you would want to do some extra basecoats and clear IMO. Your truck would be gone for several days. Paint route would also likely diminish resale value.

Color change PPF is a new one for me. When I took my truck in for PPF I saw them installing color change PPF in a funky color on a Nissan Z. It's hard, high quality stuff. From what I'm told it can last up to 10 years. Harder to install, more expensive than vinyl, but probably the best option.

If budget permits I would go with color change PPF.

If you choose the vinyl route just keep in mind if you park the truck outside, after a few years it can get difficult to remove if you let it harden and crack. I used Oracal 970RA a few years ago. I want to say I had it on for 4 years or so, kept it garaged or shaded as much as possible, and it was easy to remove.
