Has anyone installed the Stillen TruPower Cold Air intake and Scoop yet on their 4th Gen Tacoma?
If so, first impressions? Ease of installation? Sound? Performance?
Thanks in advance.

This is the one I’m inquiring about.

I have the sixth element on mine and haven't noticed much of a difference except for the turbo noise. No increase in mileage. I also did the 6 element axle dump.

I have been looking to get one as well. Install looks pretty simple. Couple of screws and a few push pins and hose clamps. All of it is easy access right on top. The Stillen intake does not require removal of the hydrocarbon trap which makes the install easier.

The hydrocarbon trap is the device between the turbo and the intake tube. Stillen ran tests leaving the trap installed and then using a one piece smooth bore tube from the airbox to the turbo and found no significant differences. Watch the video on their site and it talks about the testing that was done during the development. I believe it is illegal to remove the hydrocarbon trap and operate on the street in many states. The K&N removes the trap in one of their CAI kits.

I was searching for a cold air system, and was contacted by Will, from sales at Stillen. I purchased the cold air system with the scoop. Very straight forward install, very easy. I personally have not noticed any difference in performance, or sound at all. To be honest, the scoop is built well, it's solid, but completely unnecessary and gimmicky. Again it's a quality product, built well, durable and tough. But I'm not convinced of the price tag that goes with it. I'd shop around. DM me for photos.
