I have had a 2025 Tacoma SR for three weeks and the fuel consumption is too much, in the city it gives an average between 15.7 and 16.5 and when it indicates that the tank is empty and requires immediate filling it only takes 14.4 gallons, I am sure that there is a problem and it seems to me a deception for the consumer who acquires a vehicle trusting in the information that the manufacturer gives, I consider that Toyota should do something about it, I think it is an abuse on the part of Toyota to deceive the consumer regarding the issue of fuel consumption.

The truck has a 3 gallon reserve that is not calculated in the distance to empty. It is capable of great fuel efficiency if you keep your foot out of it. I’m currently at 20mpg with mostly city. I’ve had a tank of all highway in the mid 20s.

My experience was similar when I bought my ‘24 Sport in November. I got 15 to 17 mpg for a few tanks, sometimes worse. As I got to about 2,500 miles it started to improve. Now, in mostly city driving, I’m getting 19 to 21 mpg. As the temps go up, I’ve noticed it does better.

As for the gas tank, many have complained about it being small. Once you know there is a three gallon reserve, you can run it past zero miles a bit. Many have. I haven’t.
