Tailgate “hanging” when opening

I’ve seen this discussed, a very slight “hang” on the tailgate when you go to opern it; has a cause/cure been identified yet?

To me it seems like the initial press releases an electric latch, the tailgate starts to open with gravity for about 1/2 second then the motor engages and opens the tailgate.

There is a pause between latch release and motor engagement. "Slack" in the motor assembly causing a "pause/hanging" before engagement is what I think folks are seeing. It may be to allow time for the latch to fully open before the mechanism “pulls”. This is all just my best guess based on watching mine open several times. I think it’s working as designed and mine has been good so far but that's no test for sure.
