I wanted to review the Bobbercycle tailgate lock, and mention other options to slow or prevent the physical removal of the tailgate.
@MargaritavilleNH has posted a thread regard Stolen tailgates. However, the thread digressed into crime statistics and the Pro edition unlock being accessed if the cab is breached. I am in no way suggesting this isnāt important, just thought keep the review limited to the physical removal of the tailgate.

All of the devices are designed to limit or deter the removal of the tailgate. Typically by adding a sleeve over the hinge.
Several options are available. The cheapest being a section of radiator hose over the hinge with a couple hose clamps.
An Amazon search shows 3 vendors making the tailgate locks for the 2024. However, checking the individual websites, the vendors donāt always claim they fit the 2024.
A couple members had mentioned the McGard and Pop & Lock devices. They appear to have worked.
I went ahead and ordered the Bobbercyle plate. They offer three kits for the 2024, each use a star wrench to remove gain access. They offer a tailgate hinge cover plate bolted to the bed, a second kit with a star bolt and cover washer for the cable, and a third kit that includes both. Amazon sells the third kit. Individual kits can be ordered from their website.
The only instructions are a video on their website. Itās pretty simple. The kits come with star sockets, but youāll need a wrench and 10mm.
The solution seems to work well, no rubbing or interference with the functioning of the tailgate.
