Our ambassador, Kelly, took delivery of a 4th Gen Tacoma this year and we thought we would share the build progress so far on it. Kelly is a content creator primarily on Youtube under the channel name "Adventure Built".

As soon as we saw the 4th Gen Tacoma release we could not wait to get a bed rack on one. Fitment was a breeze thanks to the modular nature of our bed racks; they can be adapted to almost any truck bed. As soon as we squared things away Kelly jumped in line to receive a new bed rack and quickly outfitted it with some other killer aftermarket parts.

We went with the 24.5” rack on this Tacoma. It allows the tent to ride up over the cab so that it doesn’t hang out beyond the back of the truck. The driver side is equipped with a hinged accessory panel and is where Kelly mounted his traction boards using the TRUKD traction board mount and some quick release pins from Amazon.

Riding up top is an Ironman Ursa 1300 roof top tent, which has been redesigned this year and seems to be getting much better reviews than its predecessor. Kelly has done quite a bit of testing with the new tent and has been very happy with it so far. Gone are the moisture intrusion issues that plagued generation 1 of these tents. Some nice touches like area lighting, a thermal liner, and spring pole storage pockets have been added to the lineup either standard or as an option.

The Ursa is paired with an Ironman 270 degree awning to provide coverage outside the tent. The Ironman awning holds its own at the price point it is at and has held up well under initial testing. We will see how it does as it gets deployed in more demanding scenarios/situations, but most people seem to be pretty happy with it.

Lots of small mods have also been done on the truck, check them out here:

We are super stoked to have Kelly on board as an ambassador. It gets harder and harder to find content creators with little bias willing to tell their audience the truth about the products they are handed. Kelly shoots us and his viewers straight, so we encourage you to check out some of his other content if you are looking at new upgrades for your truck. We will keep the thread updated as his 4G Tacoma build progresses!
