To be honest, i have the exact truck i want, sat /w my Dealer waited almost 4 mos, i was getting restless, but got the call from him and got everything we sat down and discussed, the only thing on the truck was 1 port add on …the OEM tube running boards/ I didnt like them ,and he didnt charge me for them…… it would be nice if toyota had a option from dealer where you can specify everything, from color, to options, instead of the packages you either take or dont….all in all im very happy with my truck, and i really want for nothing

Not me running out in the cold to check if I have those buttons on my SR LOL
Yeah, definitely no buttons on my tailgate either. Pretty weak for Toyota to not have this as a standard feature. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s just one of those things leaving you scratching your head.

On a more positive note, I’m super happy they at least gave us MT owners a keyless entry and push button start. I remember asking the dealer when I picked up my 3rd gen taco a few years ago why I’m using a regular ass key in my brand new fifty thousand dollar truck, and they told me it’s “because it has the stick shift transmission.” I could maybe understand if it was a basic work truck, but that thing was fully optioned! It might seem dumb to complain about, but that key annoyed the hell outta me, and was ultimately what drove me back to the dealership to try out one of these newer tacos. Not a single regret!

I was stoked to get Adaptive Cruise, up/down tilt on my headlights and a long gun rack behind the seat on my lowly SR Xtracab 4x4. 6’ bed. I also got steel wheels and some sweet 245/70/R17 tires for those MPG’s and a below bumper air dam. LOL! The tinted windows and manual air conditioner is the bees knees.

from the sound and seal perspective:
hood insulation pad on all trims
acoustic glass on all trims
door weather seals on all trims thick enough to actually seal
roof molding instead of those plastic bits and leaves a giant wind channel

I kept calling that a gun rack as well!! But I have the cab, but also 4x4. I enjoy it!! I was a little let down when I got it (I was initially picking up a SR5, but turned out had to wait a long time and couldn't afford to do so since my car broke down), and was told they have the same 278hp engine... which was weird. But I still love it!
