Your best bet is not to mention you have your own financing or enough cash until you've already nailed down the out-the-door price. Really, if you want the best deal, you always want to separate each aspect of the deal and consider them separately. You're not sure you're going to trade your vehicle in unless they give you the right value for it, separately from dealing on the new car price. You'll consider their financing, but you want to sort out the price first. If you keep things separated, you can consider them on their merits. And not fall for the 4-square movement tricks.Will the dealerships attempt to give you a bad deal on price if you don’t use their financing (I assume that’s where they make most of their money)? I’d like to just purchase my truck free from the archaic dealership rigmarole.
