Scion XB, but wanting a 2024 Taco
Hi All,

New to the forum and wanting to get my first Taco. One thing I can't seem to get any information is the hood scoop color for the TRD Sport. Some videos have a color keyed/matching scoop and others have a black scoop and most of the trucks we see are pre-production models. Does anyone know which sport configuration comes with the black scoop? I know it's standard on the TRD Pro but can't find any info on the standard TRD Sport. Also, I know that on previous generations it caused some hood glare...any chance anyone has driven one to report on this in the '24? Many thanks for your time!

When you build one on toyota.com, all the sports show as body-colored...

Yeah, it appears to be body-colored in the build module. But I've seen several videos of regular sports with a black one that isn't a TRD Pro. I just didn't know if it came with a premium package or if it was unique to the pre-production build. Alas, it seems not to be noted anywhere so I will assume it's body-colored. Thank you for all the replies!

I think that is the question....I though that too but here is a video on a pre-production sport with a black one.

Yeah, exactly this! There are a few more videos of this...blue/underground/red body with a black scoop. So strange to not notate it anywhere.

If it does not come black , then I will just have it wrapped. I like the look of it being black and will be getting the black out options in the accessories.

It’s hard to know, since the build guides changed slightly from December to January, like I found out about the packaging of heated seats being removed from the standard upgrade package. Now they are there own package or you have to go up to premium package.

They do show optional black outs for the Tacoma badge and back tailgate, but nothing about an optional black out for the scoop.

Yeah, I think we're in the same mode of thought on the scoop. I like the contrast of the black against the body color, regardless of the color option chosen. So, wrapping it is the next logical step. Such a crazy amount of packages with adding/removing one or two things but significantly bumping the base price up. This better be the best thing I've ever driven! =-)
