I got new 285/70/17 tires on the truck and I didn't want to stick with a 245/70/17 tire as my spare so I had the shop move a stock tire to the spare.

With the 265 added and stock height, it gives you about 30 cm between the tire and the street. The space underneath will allow for a large tire, you will just lose ground clearance.
2024 Tacoma Upgraded the spare tire on TRD Offroad to 265/70/17 1721231761740-t6

What I want to know is whether we can fit a 285/70r18 (34”) in that spare location. Otherwise, I guess I’m sticking with 33s.

It probably would. My concern was that a 285 tire would hang too low without a lift.

I’m waiting for someone to try. I’ve got a Pro getting delivered in the next month or so and I’d like to go with the duraspec wild peak 285/70r18s.

I think the pros come with a full size spare already. Is that a larger tire size than stock?

Just looked it up, you’ve got a Goodyear 265/70R18. It says that you have a full size 265 spare but I believe it may be a courtesy spare like ours. Mine was a 245/70/17 on my TRDOR

I’m almost 100% confident at this point that the pros and Trailhunter come with a full size spare, but this would be an increase in size for a 32.6” tire to a true 34”.
