What is this noise

I have a 2024 Tacoma ST 4WD Xtracab and was driving it 5 hours earlier. I was sitting in the garage watching it rain and heard this noise. The truck was parked and off. Any ideas. It’s coming from the rear underside.

It's checking for leaks in the fuel system.

Now that I have had some rest I got a reply and thank you and followed up on the forum and found that it’s Normal and does this to prime the fuel system. Wow!


From the manual:

Noise from under vehicle after turning off the engine :
Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes.
This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and, it does not indicate a malfunction

When a newer vehicle has fuel tank partially filled, the vehicle will pump air into the fuel tank and then time the event to see it the evaporative emission system is operating properly. If not, the pressure will leak and a check engine light will occur. This issues when the engine is off, and again, not a full tank of fuel.
