The historic manufacturer of Toyota transmissions has been AISIN. I don't know if that is true for the Tacoma. AISIN is a Toyota company.Only reason I am thinking about a Tacoma is I hope the transmission is built in Japan. I have had problems in my 20/20 F-150 with the automatic transmission built by General Motors. Toyota has such a reputation for reliability that my 07 Ford F150 has just had half spark plugs and brakes for over 230,000 miles. I want a reliable truck!!!
Your are correct. Transmissions from Japan and engines from Alabama. The historic manufacturer of Toyota transmissions has been AISIN. I don't know if that is true for the Tacoma. AISIN is a Toyota company.
I asked a buddy who works for Toyota. His answer, "as far as I know." So yes, AISIN Japan for the transmissions.Your are correct. Transmissions from Japan and engines from Alabama.
