Hi all,

Just purchased this cover. I'm having a hell of a time installing this cover. Looked on youtube for any videos to offer assistance. I even reached out to RealTrucks.com. So far- no one has been able to help me with leveling out the side rail. Every time I place the cover on the rails, the rails bend downward and the latches do not click.

I've attached some pictures of the side rail and clamp for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I have the Revolver X4TS but it looks like the mounts are the same. Try mounting the clamps as high as you can (see pic below)

Also noticed that your adapter rails barely hit the top of the bed on the side (less than 1/4" make contact). Mine are that way too. I provided that feedback to their support department b/c it doesn't seal great.

On my last truck I had the MX4, so I assume this is similar.

On your photo, try to readjust the clips. Loosen the bolts and try to swing the clip outward (#1) and then try to hook it into the rail (#2). On my last truck (GMC Canyon), these clips had a satisfying "snap" when you hooked them into the rails properly. The clips snapped/hooked into the rails and stayed attached by themselves if you insert it properly.

I do know the MX4 has went through a recent redesign so this could all be incorrect.

Forgot to say, offset your mounting clips so they aren't on top of the adapter rail mounts, but close to them.

Not trying to take over OP's post, but how do you like the X4TS? I was thinking to get the X4s as I don't see myself needing the t-slots. I recently purchased the Toyota OEM hard cover. I have a Limited trim and it has a camera in the 3rd brake light, and the Toyota OEM cover hits the camera when you fold it up! engineering flaw I guess lol.

But I was thinking about a non-tri fold as I assume all the tri fold will have similar issues. Are you happy with the X4?

Overall I'm very happy with the X4. Like that it rolls up w/o using up bed space, and without blocking the rear window or cameras. My only issue is a bit of rain water gets in on the sides. I think it is because their "Adapter Rail" mount that doesn't overlap the side of the bed by very much preventing a more robust seal

thank you for your suggestion. Those clamps have been placed as high as they can go. The tighter I tighten the bolts the side rails just bent upward. Not sure why.

offset your mounting clips so they aren't on top of the adapter rail mounts, but close to them. You should then be able to mount up higher. Your clips looked like they were mounted through the adapter rail mounts

I had the same issue. The problem is that the clamp is not snapping into the rail that sits on top of the bed side. I had a friend hold the rail firmly and flush with the top of the truck bed top. In other words he held it in place where it should sit. With the clamp tight but not fully tightened, I struck the bottom of the clamp with a rubber mallet from underneath while I was inside the bed. Not too hard to break or bend anything. This produced an audible click as the clamp snapped into the rail. My friend continued to hold it tightly in place while I fully tightened the clamp and this worked. I did the front clamp first then worked towards the back. To tell the truth I am not very happy with this cover despite it getting good reviews. A decent amount of water leaks in at the front and rear corners and it does not sit well against the back if the cap when fully opened. I also purchased this for more security than a soft cover. However I feel the cover could just be pulled open by sticking your fingers between the top of the tailgate and rear of the cover and pulling up firmly. The locking lugs are just plastic. For the money I am disappointed. Lastly be careful where you place the front clamp. If you follow the directions the front clamp in this location will interfere with the clamp that attaches the cover to the rails. This is also mentioned in another thread. Seems like this cover was meant for another truck and it was shoehorned into use on the Gen 4.

This is the only answer. Had the same issue.
