Are you sure it's because there's something ON your seats?

I've been doing my best to ignore the obnoxious chiming. I get it probably every other time I lock my truck. Only in my case, I attribute it to what's under the seats, not what's on top of them. I kind of chalked it up to me having too much stuff stored under the seats and it must be triggering a sensor somehow.

It's in the vehicle settings. Just turn the damn thing off.

I dont think youre getting it man, lol. This is function you speak if is OFF, but it still beeps. There is possibly a difference in the models functionality in the settings menu for different displays, which may be a software issue. (trd vs sr5 vs sr, etc)

I was at the dealer and verified it with a salesman who had the same truck as me, and his has the same problem. The setting is off, but it still 8 beeps anytime you have:

-Something on the back seat.
-open and close the rear door while vehicle is running.

I know there are variations because ive read some folks with the TRD's display settings reset to a default upon startup, the same settings on my SR5 stay as i left them. So this may be a software issue overlooked between models.

It's not the seat belt reminders that the OP wants to go away. It's the "hey, you might have left your kid in the back seat" reminder. I won't be surprised if Toyota does NOT have a way to disable that.
"Toyota let me disable the warning and I left my kid in the car in August!"
This is correct.

There is something on my seats. Thats exactly what it is. I live in Alaska, and keep cold weather survival stuff back there at all times, in a large tote. They still should allow me to disable the beeps, as i dont need to be forced a reminder.

From what it may look like, is there is possibly a variation in software between models with the two different displays available. Mine disabled the message display, but not the 8 beeps. Seems some other folks are able to fully turn it off.

I must not.

I put my two dogs back there, and it hasn't yelled at me since. It's all part of the Safety Sense and all models have the same level of SS. As I stated above, the manual tells how to turn it off.

I've found it quite handy. ;)

😂 Either youre joking or youre a literal and actual retard. 😂
