For the first time, Ford trucks are more reliable than the Tacoma. So are Ram. So are Chevy.

The guy finally got banned. He was going off about 6 months ago right after joining talking all sorts of bad stuff about Tacoma and telling everyone about his Ford he was going to buy. I figured he was gone after that thread basically got closed and deleted because he made zero sense and was attacking everyone. Glad the admins got ride of him once and for all.

Dang so you're saying I responded for no reason. Either way glad he got banned lol. I would've done the same thing.

A quote from the article "Since these vehicles are brand-new, their reliability has yet to be rated"

so what is this article saying, exactly? It seems to directly contradict itself.

I looked at the "RepairPal" it claims to get information from and the latest information they show is from 2019, in which they claim Toyota is less reliable than both Kia and Hyundai.
Yes, sort of a BS article if one looks at the recalls and NTSB complaints lists across the brands. Same for the obvious illustrations of people who've failed or not had a stats 101 class. By that I mean the small number of transmission TSB vehicles against nearly 200,000 sold.

I don't totally discount Edmunds or JD Power content but the NTSB and CU methodology is better. Assuming the April tradition, we should see how the new generation Tacoma is in its first year of Consumer Reports ratings.

I'd believe the reliability issue. My AC chirp is not fixed after Toyota adjusted the AC compressor, and now my tailgate sensor is malfunctioning. Two trips for repairs before 10k... Sad. I'm debating parting ways at this point.

That guy was a tool. I decided to check out the Maverick forumsā€”there's only one I found, though Iā€™m sure there are more. It turns out, not everything is peaches and cream in Maverick land either. Apparently, it had its fair share of problems early on, and for 2025, Ford changed everything up. And in the processā€”wait for itā€”they increased the price! Shocking, I know.

I take most of these articles with a grain of salt. In reality what are the true numbers when it come to the listed problems with the new 4th gen? You get a couple people on the forums with a problem, which then leads to a negative conversation about the product. Iā€™m not saying there are no real issues, but is it any different from other manufacturers? Iā€™ve owned RAM and Ford PU trucks over the years and recently traded in my 2022 Ford Ranger Lariat Tremor edition for a 2024 Tacoma OF Premium because of the value Toyota brings. I had small issues with all my trucks over the years, but nothing that would prevent me from buying another one. I choose the 4th gen because of the engineering aspect of it and again the value it brings. For example, I almost purchased a Colorado ZR2 with convenience 3 package for about the same price. However, why would Chevrolet put a plain non electric passenger seat in a truck that expensive???? Stupid if you ask me. So, the take home point is everyone stop reading the negative and just enjoy your 4th gen Tacomaā€¦itā€™s a great truck in my opinion!

Bummed I missed the fun on this one. There is something so incredibly funny to me about doing the legwork at the dealership for a new Tacoma and then ending up with a Maverick.

From the maverick forum from a member named ā€œbad Samaritan ā€œ

ā€œ
When I posted a similar message on the tacoma4g forum and said that instead of a 2024 Tacoma, I decided to get a Maverick, I got a lot of hate in the comments, and eventually got banned from the forum by simply stating the fact that the 2024 Tacoma reliability has nosedived.

The comments was ranging from "The Maverick is not a real truck", to "Your Maverick will depreciate, and break, and burn", to "Admin, ban this troll at once!"

The Maverick crowd is so much cooler than the Tacoma cult! šŸ™‚
and
The Maverick crowd is a community.
The Tacoma cult is a mob.
Totally different environment.
Here, when a person decided not to purchase the Maverick that he ordered, people wish him luck, etc.
There, you become a traitor and a troll.
