Just some food for thought. something I noticed today coming home from work. I live in the northeast. And we are currently having some light snow. So I’ll preface this with the fact that I just recently replaced my halogen turn signal/running light? bulbs. For led ones. Coming home today on my 20mile trip home I wiped the headlights clean before departure and started to notice that my headlights became a billboard for snow to collect on. And had loss of light being thrown down the road. And I don’t think there was enough heat generating to melt any flakes laying on the lens. Now do I think a halogen would produce that much more heat? I don’t know. But something I took note of whilst driving. And while yes. I understand that maybe. At some point in driving under heavy snow. That may happen. And you’ll have to clear the lens off. But I’d argue what I was facing was no where near the worst I’ve personally seen so far in regard to flake size. And abundance of flake? If that makes sense. Opinions? I may go back to halogens for more heat build up in the housing

I thought Diode Dynamics implied that Lasfits bulb with the built in resistor generated a lot of heat, and their solution was superior.

I wish the headlight enclosure had defrost.

I guess in all honesty I can’t blame or even point the finger at lasfit per se. It was one drive cycle under one set of weather conditions so I’ll chalk it up to coincidence for now. And see if I can get repeatable results before I make any assumptions. If that is the case though with diode dynamics. Then I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Granted. I came from a 97 Chevy k1500 to a 24 taco. So I’m feeling spoiled but I’ve never had that issue with the rust bucket.

This is a non issue. I'd be more worried about the snow collecting on the front radar.

oh man. I already went through it. Thank baby Jesus Toyota allows you to make on the fly setting controls for the Adas. Systems. Couldn’t take the constant messages. Had to turn off parking sensors. Lane keep. And active cruise. But once turned off. I can live with it. Everyone else around me is driving like they’ve never seen snow before so I have to keep my wits about me

I had custom made led headlights made for my tundra. supposed to be the best at the time but I couldn’t run them in the winter because they would just pack up with snow from lack of heat so I had to remove them till it warmed up. The lights were awesome but not for snow… just a thought

It depends on outside temps? If it’s 30 and snowing it’s going to stick to everything, if it’s 10 below and snowing it won’t stick to anything. I have the lasfit bulbs and definitely traveled through a lot of snow storms this year zero problems.

so I started thinking. Maybe…Some sort of super hydrophobic coating? Or a tiny little heater element to keep the snow at bay? I’m grasping at straws here. Is there any way at all to disable the radar system?
