Ah ok that makes sense. Does the basic remote connect let you control the temperature? They need to be a bit more transparent tbh. $89 for life...seems pretty reasonable.
There is actually a huge list of things you can control. You can find the full details here for 2024 models, but a few are:
  • Guest controls/alerts
  • Status Alerts - Unlocked, Open doors, windows, hood, ect.
  • Remote Controls
    • Start/Stop
    • Lock/Unlock
    • Climate, Seat heat/ventilation, Steering wheel heat, defrost
    • hazard lights, headlights, horn alert,

Have to do without my remote start capability. Canceled all the connected services. Don't want them collecting and distributing all the telematics.

You can remote start with the remote control without the connected services. Three presses with a hold on list press. There's a video on the facetube.

I've tried so many times and got it to work like twice. Not worth the hassle lol
