This not true. The back window does have a sensor. And mine was broken and caused this message. My local dealer refused to fix it under warranty, and tried to say that I damaged the switch. When I got it back from them, it was just hanging loose out of the little groove in front of the rear window. It's nothing more than a microswitch with a small metal tab that acts as the sensor. I have not been able to fix it yet.
I don't believe I said it did or didn't have a sensor. What I said is that the back slider doesn't report open/close status to the Toyota app. Try reading posts at least twice before responding with BS unrelated to the OP's or my post.

Well you apparently are an idiot. I don’t see the word app once in your post. OP mentioned the message in the truck and on the app. I don’t use the app, but I had the same notification in the truck, making my response exactly the same as OP. When you grow a brain feel free to post something useful.

Well you see Jackass, the OP was questioning the APP not reporting that the window is open or closed. I was pointing out that it doesn't have that functionality and that's it period. Then you start in about OH the window has a sensor..... Who the fuck cares? You obviously have a different problem than the OP. In the original discussion 8 MONTHS ago nobody was talking about a sensor. I was talking ONLY about the App. Never mentioned sensor so what exactly did I say that wasn't true?

Your local dealer refused to fix it because you broke it! I think it's great they told you to eat shit! 🤣 Most dealers would probably goodwill the fix on a new vehcle but they probably had you pegged as a douche bag and said let this know it all pay for it.

Well - window was closed but found the switch jacked up. back working now, thanks for the hints. that's right where the seatbelt is, guessing that's what knocked it off. Doubt I'll be the last. worst case to just short those wires and remove the rear window status switch.

This......
I installed seat covers and accidently bumped / dislodged the switch for the rear window slider... All I had to do to fix the "window open" notification was reattach the switch and cover plate. Problem solved.
