What's the advantage of ceramic window tint?
Sponsored
Do you recall the price difference between the 2 types? You won’t feel the UV rays as much through your drivers window.
I had ceramic tint on my last vehicle and I received dealer/3rd party installed tint on the my 2024 dealer lot inventory purchase (I negotiated to have the tint charge removed).
I could immediately tell on the drive home that it was not premium ceramic tint. I could feel the strong UV rays coming through the window on the sunny day drive home from the dealership.
I plan of having the cheap window tint removed and have it replaced with ceramic window film.
No. They add dye to the glass and color it.Do any manufacturers build their vehicles with ceramic tint as standard, or is it always an after market product?
There is no comparison between the traditional window tinting and ceramic. I live in the desert in Scottsdale, Arizona, and have been tinting windows on my cars for a very long time. The ceramics take out the heat, cooling the car, reducing any intensity in the cabin, etc. Well worth it.You won’t feel the UV rays as much through your drivers window.

Well that is a bit of an exaggeration. It does not "take out the heat and cool" the car. It is still hotter than hell after sitting in the sun for a long time it just cuts out A LOT and if in a very hot summer place ceramic is worth it. If not in the extreme hit, flip a coin if you want to spend the extra money. There is no comparison between the traditional window tinting and ceramic. It is not even close… “A flip of the coin“? … It’s a game changer. Spend the extra money and I guarantee you’ll be happier. I drove an hour to work and back from work for the past 45 years in Phoenix and Scottsdale and had both types of tinting…and I will never go back to traditional tinting. My 2024 Tacoma Trd pro is tinted with 15% ceramic (which is the amount of visible light… DARK)…And I’m loving it!Well that is a bit of an exaggeration.
