Looks like a premium for sure, Canadian dealer… pretty much confirms Canadian spec’d Taco’s premiums aren’t getting the power tailgate

I saw a premium model on Friday at a dealership in Barrie, Ontario they have as a demonstrator. Does not have the power tailgate or the controls in the taillights. Was beautiful to sit in tho.

It will only appear on the TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and Limited in Canada. I imagine they removed it from the other models to manage cost. I'm not too upset because even the non-powered ones have hydraulic assist, so they'll still be easy to manage, and less to break.

I did see a few videos online with no power tailgate AND no hydraulic assist, may have just been an SR though I can't recall.

My Sport premium does not have a power tailgate but it has the assist, very easy to lower and lift

I have a 21 TRD Sport Manual and agree that its not a chore but all those damn videos I watched lead me to believe it came with it.

I think this is a scheme to charge more in the next few years for when they do their TRD OR and Sport model upgrades. Then they can introduce these features in premium packages and of course this will justify them charging you more.
