I usually don't reply in the negative; however IMO the Taco hood scoop is the ugliest thing on the planet and the best mod IMO is to unglue it and toss it in the trash can.
Thanks for your two unsolicited cents 🤣 Wouldn't of even seen it only for someone quoted you. You're entitled to your opinion, some people love it some people hate it, that's okay. Although I was asking about raptor lights in the hood scoops not asking what people thought of the hood scoop and if I should remove it, I quite like the look fake or not, adds aggressiveness.

Anyways, thanks for chiming in I guess, I'll be sure to update this post when I eventually add some raptor lights to it 🤣

The raptor look is so last year. I'm replacing the emblem with an Eye of Sauron.

@Kielly Sorry to help hijack your thread BTW.

You posted a cool idea and I wanted to hear all about it, not listen to some crank who hates the scoop. Fine, hate away, but let the rest of us talk about an interesting mod.

I hope you figure out the lights and do the mod and share it with all of us who don't hate the hood scoop.

Came across a post on Facebook where someone out amber lighting inside the hood scoop. Refreshed Facebook and now I can't find it anymore 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Is the owner on this forum or does anyone have any information? I'm looking to do the same but it would be nice to know what lights they used exactly. It looked great.
I saw the same thing, but it was a taco that was being lifted on the 88Rotors YouTube channel. So it exists.

Going a little off topic here: I too wish I could replace the emblem on my “future” truck. I very much like the TOYOTA spelled out on the Pro but if I didn’t get the Pro, I might be tempted to swap it out for the Toyota Truck emblem that I won many many moons ago. 😅✌

All good man! I get it lol. I may order some on the coming days and hope they're not too big to fit. If I do I'll post the end results here somewhere

Just ordered these puppies along with an inline fuse, some T taps and extra wire. Thinking this will do just well. I could've got the 6mm but opted for the 11mm as I was afraid the 6 would be too small. If it's the opposite, I'll reorder the 6mm.

My thought process is I should be able to stick these bad boys straight through the grille inside the hood scoop, and screw them tight. No cutting. Will report back on Monday/Tuesday with hopefully some good results!

Following for everyone’s DIYs. Definitely interested in doing this. Only issue for me would be access through the hood scoop. I tried to get it off this past weekend to wrap it. There are three bolts that come through the hood right under the scoop. Unscrewed the nuts on them and the scoop is definitely adhered with something as well. Didn’t want to tug too hard. Maybe wires can be run without fully removing it?

There's a fourth!!! I thought the same thing hahaha cursing and swearing the whole nine yards. Finally I looked and there's a forth bolt that's hidden because it's sunken into the hood more, it's behind the third bottom bolt. One you take that off it pops off easy, just a couple plastic clips.

Don't be nervous once you get that forth bolt off, it may still feel like it's stuck with 3m or another type of adhesive but it's not (although it should be), it's just the grime and dirt buildup seemed to make mine a little sticky. The amount of dirty that gets underneath these things is kind've concerning.

Check my link above your response, I have an update in it where I actually mounted the lights behind the grille part of the hood scoop so it's nice and hidden. Still looks good in the day and at night.

Ended up tackling this over last weekend and part of last week. As usual with all my projects, it took WAY. more time than anticipated and probably more than it was worth for a few LEDs in the hood scoop, but once you have enough time invested it feels more wasteful to scrap the whole thing at that point haha I'll be writing a post about how I managed to do mine. Thanks for the tips!
