My last truck had several displays that you could not read with polarized glasses. I have one pair for out on the water where glare is a problem but my others are not polarized for just that reason.

I noticed a feature in google maps the other day when it identified the location of a speed trap as i approached.
Then later i reported the location of a speed trap. Theres a button on the right side of the screen to report traffic problems - speed trap is one of them

Edit - looks like apple maps does too. Might be time for me to switch
This is from Google swallowing up Waze- they brought this feature up from waze, where it was kind of the whole point, and have been slowly integrating it into google.

Can someone tell me what it took to get the turn by turn to display on the HUD and instrument center?

Specially, I'm trying to use it with Android Auto and Google Maps (in case we enter the land of corner cases).

My phone is paired and in a Toyota profile that gets recognized when I get it (paired to physical fob, not digital key). I have the HUD set to "full information" with "driver support" turned on. I have my instrument settings for center cluster being "driver support". I have NOT activated Toyota Connected Services yet. The connection to the truck is wireless.

Anyone else having an issue?
Anyone successful that can share their full setup?
Did you have to enable Connected Services first?

I get HUD nav prompts in my truck when using Apple maps on my iPhone. I still haven't sorted out the various settings and I haven't changed anything. I haven't tried it with Google maps, because lately I have found Apple maps to be more accurate.

Now if I could figure out how to keep my bluetooth phone connection stable I would be set.

Interesting. I never tried it with Apple Maps, I don't like the cartoonish graphics. Google maps definitely doesn't work.

Yeah, the graphics are strange, but the navigation is excellent. I used Google maps for years, but it has misdirected me too many times and I switched to Apple maps, which has improved a lot over time.

Thank you so much! I have a simple aftermarket speed HUD in my current daily driver, and after seeing the HUD in a GMC Canyon I was blown away at how advanced they'd become.

I don't think I can ever go without one again either.

Luckily I already have non-polarized sunglasses for work.

I really appreciate the photos, it's put me at ease quite a bit!
was your navigation the Toyota subscription? or Android Auto? or Apply CarPlay?

I played around further in my menus today (Toyota subscription still disabled/not activated). HUD on "full". Using wireless Android Auto with Google Maps.

if I cycle one of the two dial centers to "navigation" I can see my Google Map next turn within the instrument cluster. But it still does not appear on the HUD.

I don't have my truck yet, should be arriving this week.

I test drove a Limited, but it didn't display any directions on the HUD during the drive. Myself and the salesman couldn't figure it out, we figured since the main display wasn't activated yet.

Go into Options -> HUD
You'll find a setting there to enable it
That's already been enabled in the instrument display settings.

If you're going to post repeat information at least be more detailed, such as:
Long press the left side OK button on the steering wheel to activate instrument edits, then cycle up/down in the middle to SETTINGS, long press OK to invoke edit menu. Then long press on HUD for the HUD submenu. From here long press on HUD Settings and change from "normal" to "full". This is also the same place you can change brightness, position, and angle. But you must be stopped to edit angle.

Now, back to the collective group teasing out what combinations of phone, nav app, and subscription yes/no invoke navigation guidance onto the HUD itself and not just in the instrument cluster.

That gauge cluster menu is a mess. I'm tech-savvy, and I still hate it. One of the choices I made seems to never want to stay locked in: tire pressure gauge. I don't pick on a lot about this truck, but this is definitely one area that needs improvement.

Yeah, I love my truck and I write software for a living, but I find configuring the gauges extremely confusing. I might need to look for a YouTube video that might make this whole thing easier. I bet a lot of owners get them as close as possible to what they want and then just give up.

From what I have read there is no clear fix for the tire pressure problem.
