Instructions have you pop the clip covering this hole, not sure why

And does that clip cover a hole in the frame or is that part of the slider? I don't see why you would need to do that if it doesn't interfere and why would you want an open hole in your frame? I don't get it.

RCI is supposed to have good product support. Before I remove that plug I plan to contact them to find out why.
