Agree. Obviously there's a lot of eyes on this thread and the forum in general. Steve has been awesome helping out any randos asking for help.
You see so many who use the site and its resources, take from here to post elsewhere and rarely give back. It's pretty shitty if you ask me.
I question that this would be the cause of the QC hold. We hadn't heard about this issue with the 24's before TFL made it very public and from the sound of it Toyota seems to be caught off guard despite the QC hold being well over a month now.
Either way we could see them issuing a safety...
TLDW; They spoke directly to Tacoma chief engineer Sheldon Brown and Toyota put more than 20 people looking into this issue. They will be replacing the ADD and TFL should have the truck back in a few days.
What's interesting is the ADD is actually designed to fail (as a safety feature) to...
Maybe because it's a single vehicle and not enough sample size to freak out over? A lot of the Ford/Jeep/Chevy/GM negativity comes from long running issues/recalls/stop sales.
TFL's is a single truck that broke down in a very public way. If this starts happening to a lot of 2024's I don't...
Thanks for the update. Any idea what the longest wait has been around? Like were there trucks built in late Dec or early Jan that are still being held?
Can you tell us how many days those released were held for on average?
And if the ones still on hold are pushing into 30-45 days or longer?
Since they've released at least a few i would think they've identified the issue and able to resolve it. Otherwise they are still trying to figure it out...
Moral of the story. You can wait until all the early issues are ironed out and still be hit with a massive recall in the final 2 years of the model life. Luckily doesn't affect mine but i'd be pissed if i pulled the trigger on a 2023 affected by this recall thinking it would be safe from all...
I'd be more worried if it didn't seem like they almost intentionally tried to break it. No break in whatsoever, towed on the first day, max load towing a few days later , drag raced a 3G days after, then yea let's go wheeling up an icy mountain with shit tires.
No actual owner is going to...
Cool so I learned the TH can float on a raft. Not sure that's the primary use case but ok.
The next one looks promising. At least there's actual driving..
