Tough call! It sounds like you really don't want to lift the front and normally don't carry that much weight, in which case you may be best served with the 817's and then you could install Timbren SES bump stops for when you're carrying weight. Or....think about air bags for short term use but...
I actually did that somewhere a couple of weeks ago and the scale read 680. The scale I was on seemed really old and unused so I wasn't sure if it was actually in operation or not and if that meant the weight was 6,800 lbs? That didn't make sense to me to only have the three numbers (and it...
I think you would be happy with the front lifted and the 819's on the back.
Right now I have the camper, drawer system and awning on the truck with all my gear removed. That probably puts my current load around 650lbs. I'm at 22 inches in front and 24 in the rear, so exactly half of where you...
I've never had any issues but then I'm not a hardcore offroader. Trails to me are just logging and forest service roads. That said, I do have full skid plates installed because some of those roads aren't great and I wanted the peace of mind. I'm more concerned about throwing a rock up than I...
As a refresher, I have a '24 Tacoma OR Long Bed, with a Lone Peak wedge camper on it. I have the Westcott Designs spacer lift up front and Dobinsons springs (C59-819V) on the back to handle the extra weight from the camper build-out. I'm running 285 /70 R17 KO3's on Method MR705 wheels. I've...
It's on there with red loctite. Put it in a vice with aluminum clamps or something similar to avoid scratching the shaft! Then you'll probably need heat. Either a high powered heat gun or a propane torch should work. Once I got it hot it came right off. Don't forget to use loctite again...
I installed a Wolfbox digital rear view mirror and really like it but trying to hack it to have a front facing camera would be a pain. I tried a few things but the camera plugs seem to be proprietary.
That said, this company makes a digital mirror with the option to add an additional camera...
Yeah, that's probably right. If you don't want to raise the front then you'll want the shorter springs in back. I've got the Westcott spacers in the front and with ~1,200 lbs in the back end the 819's are perfect. Even with all that weight the backend would be too high if I didn't have the front...
I made it to the big puddle on the west side (Pacific Ocean). IMHO the look of the LP with the long bed is perfect, but that's just my opinion. I've experienced no flex or hitting at all.
As I type (swipe?) this I'm sitting in dispersed camping in the national forest just outside Lassen National Park in northern California on week three of a three week trip. I was the first 4th Gen Tacoma to take delivery of a Lone Peak (a matter of pride although a silly one). I'd post a...
I've got a thread here somewhere if you search for it. I've got over 2,500 miles on them now and they're great. Same thing though, they were originally designed for the LC but fit our trucks perfectly.
Both are fantastic options, I'm sure. I've got over 9,000 miles on the KO3's already and love them but I haven't seen snow yet and haven't even hardly driven them in the rain so I'm still waiting for those conditions to really call them awesome. So far though I'm very impressed.
I'm not sure if you're asking for advice or just saying what you're going to do but your plan seems solid. There are links in one of my earlier posts to the actual Amazon parts I bought. So far no issues with any of it so I think my post on that issue is solid.
The main difference is the load capacity. There's a link earlier in the thread that shows the different variants and recommended capacities. The 821 is rated for more weight than the 819. I'm happy with the 819 but if you're carrying enough weight then move to the 821.
Based on what you're...
Here are pictures I took off the front and back mounting points this morning. The loft net doesn't come with anything to roll it up but I certainly don't see why you couldn't easily get some Velcro and do so. The loft is shaped like a trapezoid so I'd probably roll it towards the front since...
