USB-C power ports output measured: watts / volts

Only had time this morning to test the peak possible outputs on the truck usb charging ports. Didn’t test the peak combined output when both ports used. I also didn’t profile the ports either. E.g. can the 19v port do 15v, 12v, or 9v. However, this gives you a good idea of what the ports can do...

Financing + Auto Loan Rates (APR %) -- Share What You've Found

If you do this, pay off most of the loan before the first payment. Simple interest loans front load the interest. You pay just a few dollars interest in 3 months. dealers hate this but they shouldn’t Make you play stupid games to get fair prices. they’re hoping you’re a financial moron like...

    Spray on bedliner worth it?

Mine is great. Secondary is that it deadens the noise of the composite bed. brand of bed liner makes almost no difference, its the prep and application that matter.

My "new" take on the JBL system ...

The volume much beyond 25 is loud enough, even with gusting winds at highway speed. 42? get your ears checked! I did some auditioning of different sources. Carplay, built in Apple music connection, FM Radio, and SiriusXM Radio. This list indicates the best sounding to the absolute worst, in...

Single zone vs dual zone climate control

I'm in the "always on sync anyway" crowd. I find the single zone works well. I thought I was going to miss it, but I don't. I have a fancy sedan for road trips anyway.

Engine oil change / differential fluid change look pretty easy

Fill plug on front diff is visible in that photo, above and to the right of the drain plug. The transfer case has a ton of free space around it and the fill plugs are facing the rear of the truck, super easy. The front diffs can be the hardest and I'm happy it's easy to get to!

đź’˛What price did you pay for your 2024 Tacoma??

I have never had any accessories install so easily. Toyota engineers did a very good job thinking everything through. This is my favorite Toyota ever!

Accessories Installed: exhaust tip, bed step, bed cargo divider (molle style)

Divider $360. Bed step was $324, tip was $84. All well below MSRP, especially as "dealer addon" during truck purchase. I have predator steps coming at $600 and floor mats at $135 shipped. In contrast if you order with the truck, the bed step is $455, Exhaust tip is $120, Predator steps $700...

Accessories Installed: exhaust tip, bed step, bed cargo divider (molle style)

Some of my accessories came in yesterday and since it was snowing outside, I woke up bright and early this Saturday and installed them. These included the bed cargo divider (molle style), bed step and exhaust tip. I can say this. Toyota engineers were very thorough and thought almost everything...

Engine oil change / differential fluid change look pretty easy

I did some crawling around under my truck a little this morning while I was installing some accessories. Looks like oil changes are going to be pretty painless on this truck. Drop middle skid plate, drain oil reach into the side, remove oil filter, replace. Fill with oil replace middle skid...
