Thank you for sharing this. I ordered them. Now I'm debating whether to just install them on the right side of the truck because that's where the ladies sit...
You nailed it. That's not a Toyota issue, it's a "poor technology being rushed to market because $" issue. And I agree, mine sucks too. I call it the phone heater, because that's the feature at which it performs best.
Thank you - I saw those, and can't figure out how in the world they would mount to my OEM rock rails... and I've looked at every picture available. I appreciate the input though!
I haven't seen this posted yet, so I figured I'd ask.
I love my TH rock rails and have no intention of getting rid of them. And since I'm not getting rid of my wife or daughter either, I am hoping there's a potential solution out there to help them get in my truck without replacing the rock...
I watched every single 4G youtube video known to mankind before I picked up my Trailhunter.
I can count on one hand the number of videos I've watched since. Been too busy enjoying the hell out of my truck to care.
TFL is worried about nothing but views lately - and that, my friends, tells you...
It's like Apple goes completely out of its way to make it as difficult and annoying as possible for you to use anything outside their ecosystem.
Example: Guided navigation. With Apple? SOUNDS GREAT! With Google Maps? It sounds like they're talking to you from your grandmother's rotary phone...
Love the look and simplicity of the PreRunner. Good luck finding the truck you want, the way you want it! Then again, this place will help you customize it until it IS that truck!
I don't think it's the number for a specific configuration. I received one of the first Trailhunters in the country, and my number was 000836. I really don't think there were 835 THs that were built before mine. This is only my opinion, of course. I don't know jack about this.
2,500 miles in with my TH, 19.5mpg average. My best tank gave me 21.1, the last one 18.4. I'm not really pushing it hard either. Could always be worse, but I was hoping for better.
That gauge cluster menu is a mess. I'm tech-savvy, and I still hate it. One of the choices I made seems to never want to stay locked in: tire pressure gauge. I don't pick on a lot about this truck, but this is definitely one area that needs improvement.
I had a chance to sell mine, but I'm torn, so I kept it. I'd love a compatible tonneau, and I think it's also worth holding onto it for when I sell the truck, many many years from now.
If Toyota ever makes a trifold compatible with it, I'll put it back on. For now, the security of a tonneau far outweighs the cool factor of the rack. It does take up a lot of space in my garage though...
I wasn't a big fan of the bronze wheels on my bronze oxide TH... and was seriously considering the Pro wheels (or other black wheels). But I've come to really like them, and I've been complimented on them several times. It works somehow.
It's gotta be a new issue. Mine was caught in back-to-back QC holds a couple of months ago, and came to me with a new snorkel cover and a yellow door sticker reducing my cargo capacity by 52 lbs.
Same as the post above, except I used AUX 1. Running the wires in the engine bay is the hardest part. I used the same pigtail connector behind the driver's side headlight.
As for interference with the snorkel, depends on the size of your ditch lights. I would think anything under 3" will be...
Hasn't happened to me, thankfully. However, my kid covered the light sensor on the dash with some school papers today, and I was honestly scared for the whole drive home that something was seriously wrong with my screen's brightness... Until I noticed the papers.
