  1. Safety Sense & Automatic Car Wash?

You can silent the alarms by tapping the little speaker icon on the safety sense screen while you go through the carwash.
  2. Do you Need TRD PRO? If you add 33" tires, would the PRO significantly outperform the OR in these tests?

I put a full 33” tire underneath. It wasn’t a big deal for me because I planned to swap out all of the tires anyway for 33s. lol no worries, friend. There’s no need to get so worked up. Nobody is forcing you to buy the truck. If you don’t think it’s worth the price then just keep your money, or...
  3. Do you Need TRD PRO? If you add 33" tires, would the PRO significantly outperform the OR in these tests?

I didn’t realize the pro had a 1 inch front 1/2 inch rear lift. I had not seen that information anywhere. So in that case, it definitely would have slightly better angles.
  4. Do you Need TRD PRO? If you add 33" tires, would the PRO significantly outperform the OR in these tests?

Certainly the Pro has lots more torque. My thought is that on the tests shown in this video (and for most real-world scenarios) the 4G turbo @ 317 ft-lb and the 11.5' of ground cleariance with 33" tires is more than adequate for most off-road situations. By comparison, the 3G produced 265...
  5. Do you Need TRD PRO? If you add 33" tires, would the PRO significantly outperform the OR in these tests?

I watched this video, and he had some issues with ground clearance on the final test: Based on Toyota's numbers, if you upgrade to 33" tires, there seems to be no difference in ground clearance between the PRO and the OR. Is that correct? Don't get me wrong—I think the Pro is sweet, but...
  6. 4G automatic transmission temps

I think this is just a common thing that people experience. My last vehicle was a 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 and I used to get high temps in the transmission when driving steep trails. Occasionally I would even get a horrible burning smell. I learned to go to 4 low for the steeper, slower...
  7. 285/70/17 tires with or without lift?

Yes. I used the factory spare rim. It probably reduces my departure angle slightly. I gained a little from the bigger tires and lost the bit I gained by installing the larger spare under the truck. It is about a wash but the spare might actually protect the tow hitch a bit. I imagine that the...
  8. 285/70/17 tires with or without lift?

I did not have to deflate the tire.
  9. Blind Spot Monitoring

Mine doesn't beep- just the mirrors light up.
  10. 285/70/17 tires with or without lift?

I installed a full-size 285/70 r17 under the bed. It fits. The tires are wider but honestly I think it kinda looks badass with the bigger spare. It looks like it might impact my departure angle, but the tires are built to support the weight of the truck and they might even protect my trailer...
  11. YOUR (honest) Pros & Cons of the 4th Gen?

So far I am very pleased with the truck. My biggest con is the size of the gas tank. I tow a relatively light trailer (2700 lbs dry) for camping/overlanding, and because of poor gas mileage while towing, I frequently need to refuel. I have a couple of jerry cans, but even then, I wonder if I...
