from what I’ve read elsewhere, it shouldn’t affect the 360 functionality since 360 uses the camera located in your tailgate - same camera used when you reverse. It will block the camera for your rear view mirror though. However, at least for me, I never really use the camera view on my rear...
I’m thinking of getting a smart cap too. Question: my taco has a bit of a cosmetic issue with the plastic bedrail trim is not flush against the sides of the bed - mostly in the corners. I was hoping getting a bed cap will push it down so it looks somewhat flush against the side of the bed...
I’ll have to try that. How long did you blast it with heat? Did you concentrate the heat on just the corner or the entire end of the bed cap that’s lifted? Mine is lifted on the corners. Really triggers my ocd. Haha.
Thanks for the tip! I will check for that styrofoam block. During my quick initial inspection on the corner of the bed cap where it's lifting - I didn't notice any styrofoam block. Perhaps, I wasn't lifting it high enough. It's the exact same corners that TacoTacoBurritoBurrito pointed out.
Yeah, I submitted the Toyota online complaint form. We will see what they say. I also use Folsom Lake Toyota for service and was about to ask them about it, but after seeing what you went through with them I probably will get a similar response. Either way, I think I'll raise this issue...
I have the same thing going on with my 2024 Taco also. Very annoying. Can you send a pic of how you used the tape for your bed cap? Does it bond well even though the edges of the cap is so thin?
