I am planning on going this year. I heard their campground isn’t that great and private. Basically open for anyone to walk through the camp area. I was going to research disperse camping or developed campgrounds near the area.
I got mine installed last week just wanted to share my experience. Cali Raised released an updated install video on their YouTube page with their current design and hardware so it helped a bit.
I did not have any hold alignment issues.
The hole where the ground wire goes on my sliders also...
I got the step edition with a bed liner top plate. Yea looking at your list made me wonder if I was shorted some hardware too. But since the frame plate isn’t an L bracket, I guess there’s less hardware needed. Hopefully they respond quickly cause I want to install it soon.
I don't have that bracket. I think it's because they changed the design and the frame plate is no longer an L-shape, so that bracket is no longer applicable. You also have a lot more leftover parts lol
My plan is to rent a bay with a lift at a DIY shop for a couple of hours. Hopefully a lift...
Yes that's the one I was referring to. Sorry I'm not familiar with names of all the hardware. This is my first diy mod to the truck.
That makes sense. I received 5 plates that I'm assuming is for the other bolts and nuts, and a bigger plate with a square hole for the snap nut for one of the...
Thanks for confirming the design. That's annoying you had to shave the grounding tab to make it fit. Not sure why the gap tolerance is so tight for that piece.
Can you tell me what the single piece square nut is used for? Their instructions on their site has it for parts that I don't have. I...
Thanks for the confirm. At least I know they didn't send me wrong ones and it'll work. That's super weird they changed the design and not update their pictures and install instructions. Not that their videos and website instructions are clear, it's actually really terrible. It's generic, they...
I received mine last week but it's been sitting there since my truck has been in the shop for repair.
Did they change the design since last year? After looking at it and reviewing the hardware and install instructions, I realize that my sliders look a little different from their install video...
Where are you located? I had my windshield smashed from a vandal in a few weeks ago. My local dealers all say it’s on a national back order and could take months. I couldn’t risk waiting that long. I was able to procure one from a dealer 4 hours away that had one in stock. Probably the only one...
How were you able to enter into parking mode recording? What settings do you have turned on in your dash cam and which setting did you set the Donger to? Also, do you mind finding out what your firmware version is and let us know?
Mine keeps recording continuously at full 4k as if the car is...
Wait, your dash cam was actually recording in one of the 3 types of recording in parking mode (timelapse, low bit rate, or motion activated)? Or was just continuously recording in the regular mode?
That's so sweet. I've been looking at the Tune M1 for a long time. It looks like a great pop-up camper without the weight of a slide-in. I think it's totally worth it if I was traveling more and living out of it. But definitely on the expensive side if you're just using it for a few weekend...
I have mine directly in the middle under the rearview mirror. Here’s the driver and passenger view. From the driver side, you don’t see any wires or adapter. And you still have access to the dash cam’s buttons and screen.
Almost $4k just for a bed rack? That's a ripoff. Just because it's OEM, doesn't mean it's better. You might get a better warranty but I don't think it's worth it. I'd go with the Kuat instead. I personally think the Kuat looks better anyway.
Well that response from Viofo is disappointing. Viofo should allow the dash cam to allow activating parking mode manually. Who cares where the power is coming from?
Also disappointed the Dongar did not test this or even disclose it. Viofo is a big name in dash cams. I guess technically it's...
I guess that's what "Continuous" mode (the middle position on the switch) is for. Theoretically, that mode will allow infinite time of power, up until the low voltage sensor triggers and turns off the adapter. I'm guessing whether the camera is "on" or "off" during that time and how much power...
