I plan to be pulling a camper trailer that is just over 3000lbs, but has a tongue weight of around 420lbs. Since my previous tow vehicles (non trucks) had significant squat with this kind of weight, I am wondering if anyone knows how to know how much squat I will see on the Tacoma (Measured at the rear fender or the receiver)? And if that squat is problematic and requires a weight distribution hitch?

I ran a trailer with 600 lb on the tongue.
I don't recall the squat measurement. 1.5" maybe. It drove ok but once i got the weight distribution, it drove much more confidently.

It puts more weight on the front tires so driving doesn't fell squishy.

You’re probably going to have a fair squat. Can you load the rear of your camper with gear to take weight off the front? I’d shoot for 350 or less.

I used to pull a couple R-PODs, one close to 3K the other almost 4K lbs., with my Gen 3 Tacoma. Weight distributing hitch with sway control was the only way to go. Sold the travel trailer, traded the Taco, and life is good.
