Sheldon brown(chief engineer) had mentioned in a few videos of the new 2024 Tacoma about a 3inch water inlet hose going to the water pump typically spec for a v8. I was looking at my lower radiator hose and upper hose tonight on my iforce Tacoma sr5. I measured the hose and at best both hoses are 1” 3/4. No idea what he was talking about my truck is no where close to these specifications .

I thought the same. The 3" hose is to and from the inter cooler from the turbo, not the radiator.

That’s for the intercooler and Toyota v8s don’t use turbos so again no idea what he’s taking about lol

"It's canted to the side to reduce vibrations. That team will do things like test the engine to max load while it's canted at a significant angle, to ensure that off-roaders can't starve the engine of oil or create flow issues. Cooling tests are tougher, too, which is why the 2024 Tacoma has a 3-inch coolant pipe"

Okay guys I did some research on this through Toyotas technical information. Sheldon was kinda sorta right but he mentions the inlet being 3inch and it’s not, what is 3inches is the turbine for the water pump which in a way would be a “inlet”. That’s a massive turbine for a 4cyl and that’s what he meant when he said “what we spec for our v8s”. Hope this was helpful
