Has anyone noticed that the 4-LO option on the 2024 TRD Off-Road feels like it is geared too low. I want to shift up cause it revs up so tight. Am I missing something? I've never had a truck move so slowly in 4-LO. You can't get a good run going in the sand. Going too slow is going to get me stuck.

That is usually a good thing, 4Lo is intentionally geared low. If you are blasting through sand or need more speed use 4Hi
I understand what you're saying. I'm just saying none of the many trucks I have owned have been geared so low. My son drives his 06 TRD in 4 lo all the time when we're hunting and you can't even tell it's in 4-lo.

That sounds more like an issue with your son's truck than yours. It should be a very noticeable difference between the two. My old jeep rubicon was geared so low I could tackle most obstacles without touching the gas pedal.

His truck gets around great and he doesn't have a problem in the sand with his "high geared" 4-lo. I can crawl and get most places but it's bit me in loose and soft sand.

Again, my best advice is switch to 4Hi if you need wheel speed. Traditionally, trophy trucks which race through sand, are 2WD. Use 4Lo when you need the lower gearing

That’s normal in low range

Have you got a manual or automatic? I'm sure its similar in the 8A, but in the manual you can still get some pretty substantial speed out of 4Lo.
Max speeds in each gear - 6M
1st - 8mph
2 - 17
3 -29
4 - 42
5 - 55
6 - 67

There is always the manual shift option?? If 4-lo 1st is too slow for you, maybe try 2nd or 3rd?
I walk faster then my old jeep moved if I just let the idol take it forward in 4-lo. Haven't tried it with the truck... yet. 😁

Automatic...It's wound up pretty tight at 17 mph.
