Just did a drive out in the foothills and the route had some fairly decent washboard in spots. The hood (most noticeable near the windshield as I was staring right at it in utter amazement) shook a lot, and at times was moving more than a 1.5” up and down. I swear I could see the engine at one point. I knew it flexed a bit under normal driving, but this was next level.

Some people here have said they added rubber “dynamat” type stuff to the hood or weather stripping and found some improvements.

Since I have the 6M, I don’t have the sound proofing layer, but I doubt that affects the shake all that much.

Has anyone found a solid fix for this? Like adding a brace or something?

My truck has a very slight shake just behind the hood scoop, but nothing like what you are seeing. Definitely nothing close to 1.5 inches!

I know a dealer might blow this off, but I would at least see what they have to say.

I’ll definitely bring it to their attention, but I suspect they’ll blow me off too. My wife got video of the flexing so I’ll be sure to show them. I don’t think she captured the few points where I thought I could see the engine, but the rest was still pretty remarkable. I could easily imagine the scoop loosening/breaking and flying off.

Good luck man, that can't be normal. A lot of aluminum hoods shake, but if it is moving that much there pretty much has to be something wrong IMO.
