Kicker makes a 4 channel amp that's more powerful, cheaper and comes with an automatic dsp for fine tuning the sound. It doesn't come with a plug'n'play harness, so you have to do some wiring yourself. If you have any experience doing stereo wiring its pretty easy
I saw that one too! Kinda leaning that way.

Do any of you guys know what the actual wattage per channel is on the JBL? Not the overall wattage but per Channel RMS not peak. I'm a front of house sound guy so I have a little knowledge about the sound and wattage LOL

A couple problems with this. First, the Beatsonic is known to play well with JBL. Secondly, I don’t know how well the auto DSP will work. All the sound on the JBL is only on one channel, so how will it adjust?

Yes we have sold a good amount of these to Toyota owners (Tacoma, Tundra, Sienna). We haven't had anyone say they wish they didn't buy it, so general feedback is positive.

We can work you a deal if interested!

My front door speakers sound like they are getting a sub-woofer feed. Only bass coming thru. Back doors have mids/uppers like the dash speakers.

Its been a while since i had to mess with a stereo but that's not normal is it?

Would the Beat-sonic change that ?

When i adjust the balance to the rear, the sound gets muddy.

Yes, that is exactly what I found also, so I pushed the fade back to the factory setting.

The basic inadequacies of the JBL system are built in and all you can do is hope to bring out what you want with some amplification. Some people say the Beat Sonic amp helps and others are not so sure. I will have an opinion when the weather allows my install, but I am not expecting it to magically change into a true premium sound system.

With so much other functionality built into that factory system it will be difficult or even impossible to really fix what is wrong with the JBL system. Toyota/JBL could have done in it in the design phase, but chose not to for some reason, perhaps just to save money. That system should have been the base system and then they could have offered a true premium upgrade, which I would have paid for, instead of their half assed attempt. The Tundra is in the same boat, and it is pretty dissapointing considering the price of these trucks.

Are you getting the same as me from your front door speakers - mostly low frequency.
And not much from the subwoofer ?

I haven't tried listening to each speaker directly, so I'm not sure. I will check it soon though and let you know.

I do notice that I hear the bass more from the door speakers than the sub, but that is how the whole system is balanced. Lots of sound from that removeable speaker, bass from the doors but not much in the way of higher frequencies. My guess is that there is nothing wrong with your sound system and it is just the way JBL set it up. If we had a better way to manage the sound stage this system might sound a whole lot better.
