I was investigating on the web and I found this Curt Trailer Brake Control Harness, I was wondering if once we have this installed we only need to plug the brake controller and it should be good to go.

Once again I am not sure so I would like to get your thoughts

The truck does not have a place for that to plug in.

That document has a date of 7/2/2020 on the bottom. Can't be for a 4th gen Tacoma.

Sorry.

I’m seeing many more 4th gen Tacomas on the road. Some company is going capitalize on a wired solution for those in need. Until then, the Curt Bluetooth does the job. I towed a 19ft travel trailer over the Sierra Nevada on multiple trips using the Curt and it works fine.

[/if you find the receptor for that plug in your 2024 Tacoma let us all know. None of us can find it. It should be in harness under side panel near brake. Don’t buy that til you find it. If you don’t, go for the tekonsha wireless. Much better that the Kurt wireless.

Those instructions are for a Tundra, not a Tacoma.

have you installed a brake controller recently?
I mean I want to know if there is a way to do it
Have you read this thread? The wires are not there. Did you read the other thread? The 4R manual shows a prewire. The Tacoma manual does not. This information is readily available. There is a write up on how to install one floating around.

This won't work, the harness for it is not even there, it also need the brake controller ECU which is also missing, the whole harness is different so we cannot even buy the ecu and plug it
Please called Toyota Customer Engagement and register your complaint. The more that do this the quicker we’ll have a Toyota wiring fix.

I installed Tekonsha wireless. Much better than the Kurt which I already had. Tekonsha more $$ but worth it because it’s not phone dependent like Kurt. There’s a separate hand held controller rather than using your phone as Kurt requires
