Cameras and MTM functionality

Hi all. I am new here and considering a Tacoma. I would use it primarily as an off-roader with occasional kick-around town use. I had a Jeep and then a Bronco. The Jeep was great for trail visibility. The Bronco hood was a bit bigger, but I had the full trail cams. The Tacoma hood is enormous and impairs trail view a lot. Ideally I would want MTM, but right now there are great deals on trucks without the premium package. So, I've tried doing research and I've spent lots of time reading through the forums, but it's still not clear to me what the differences are. So my questions are these:

• What are the hardware differences between a truck with premium pkg and MTM and a truck with "upgrade" pkg with 14" screen?
• Does the premium come with more cameras? Does the truck without premium come with a front camera at all, or just backup camera?
• Is there a reasonably efficient (and affordable) way to get solid off-road camera performance on a non-MTM truck, or best to just suck it up and buy the $9k premuim package?

The "standard" only has a rear camera. With the Premium package, you get five cameras that allow you to see around and under the truck.

The Premium package delivers a lot more than just the cameras. I doubt there's an aftermarket system that compares since you won't be able to view it on the screen.

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know. I think it's probably best to just suck it up and get the premium package. Toyota has a kind of screwed up philosophy when it comes to off-roading. You have to buy the most expensive of everything. I'm sure it maximizes revenue, but it sucks to take a $50k + new vehicle out and bash it. Would be so cool to get all off-road features without having to pay for luxury crap I don't want.
